Texas Marketing Manager (East Houston)

The Marketing Manager has primary responsibility for developing, maintaining and managing the distribution system for GeoVera Specialty’s insurance products in Texas, in accordance with Company goals, policies and procedures. The Marketing Manager creates and manages clear channels of communication between GeoVera Specialty and the assigned agents in order to maximize business opportunities.  The Marketing Manager keeps abreast of the strengths and weaknesses of the competition and communicates these to the Company, as well as recommended ways to capitalize on opportunities. The Marketing Manager reports directly to the GeoVera Specialty Sales Executive.

Essential Functions

With respect to agents in Texas:

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with key management personnel within agencies and brokers for the purpose of developing business opportunities.
  • Builds strong working relationships and communicates effectively with those who place business within an agency.
  • Coordinates communication to agents to provide consistent and timely information, as well as provide critical information to management and to GeoVera Specialty’s business units regarding issues and opportunities with the distribution system.
  • Communicates and implements Company strategy to distribution plant.
  • Manages the process of effective distribution management on behalf of GeoVera Specialty. This includes prospecting new agents, appointing new agents, agency goal setting, coordinating agency/broker profit sharing activities, and the the termination of agency contracts.
  • Consults with the Sales Executive and business units while working directly with agents and brokers to resolve any issues or problems.
  • Monitors the financial results of GeoVera Specialty’s distribution system.
  • Identifies and directs mutual business opportunities in an effort to maximize business unit objectives.
  • Coordinates and implements all training activities with GeoVera Specialty agents.
  • Coordinates quality reviews/audits and monitors/reports results.
  • Consults with the Sales Executive and business units, as needed, on special requests or projects.
  • Enforces the ethical and legal standards of GeoVera Specialty with its agents.


Additional Responsibilities


Performs other related duties as required and assists with special projects.


Minimum Requirements

Education, training, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of High School Diploma/GED, training and work experience.
  • Continuing industry education preferred
  • Three to five years P&C Personal Lines experience preferred
  • Experience in using various automation tools and systems to effectively support distribution system management

  • Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional planning and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy, able to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
  • Works well with management and co-workers
  • Ability and willingness to develop and execute a marketing program for a specific territory
  • Ability to work independently and must be able to travel to producer locations
  • Existing independent agency relationships in assigned territory a definite plus
  • Computer Literacy, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Clean driving record
