Technical Business Analyst

Gather and analyze business data and user needs by working with both business managers and end-users as well as the IT development staff. Participate in the development of business requirements, as well as provide application program testing and quality assurance within the IT department. May be responsible for one or more of the following; quoting websites, financial/general ledger, bureau/ISO reporting, forms application, policy, agency and claims management systems.

Essential Functions

  • Act as a liaison between business users and the IT programming and development staff to write and assess new business requirements and change requests.
  • Collaborate with the IT Development staff and Lead Technical Business Analyst on change/release management for all application system, production change, implementation and documentation as assigned.
  • Develop and execute software test plans as well as documentation of test results.
  • Communicate with business users in the various departments and management to ensure a high correlation among customer needs, company goals and information system products.
  • Participate in the development of documentation for training for program change requests used by end users. Conduct training as assigned.
  • Conduct day to day testing of changes to the application systems. This will include testing both new program changes and fixes to all applications.
  • Responsible for regulatory and compliance activities with regard to the filings and ISO and Bureau reporting.
  • Develop and create forms design and integration with various applications.  Integrate with the job scheduler and form merging programs to implement as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as required and assists with special projects.



Minimum Requirements

Education, training, and experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of High School Diploma/GED, training and work experience.
  • Experience with software application testing and documentation skills. 
  • 3+ years of software testing experience and quality assurance preferred.


Knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Ability to interface well with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and good problem solving skills, effective communication skills and a customer service orientation. 
  • Working knowledge of hardware and software applications including Windows applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy, able to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
  • Works well with management and co-workers
