  • Summary

    The Marketing Manager has primary responsibility for developing, maintaining and managing the distribution network for GeoVera Holdings, Inc. admitted products in an assigned territory, in accordance with Company goals, policies and procedures.  The Marketing Manager creates and manages clear channels of communication between GeoVera and the assigned agents and brokers in order to maximize business opportunities.  The Marketing Manager keeps abreast of the strengths and weaknesses of the market, competitors and the Company.

    Essential Functions


    With respect to agents in assigned territory:


    • Develops and maintains effective relationships with key management personnel within agencies and brokers for the purpose of developing business opportunities.
    • Coordinates communication to agents and brokers to provide consistent and timely information, as well as provide critical information to management and to GeoVera’s business units regarding issues and opportunities with the distribution system.
    • Implements Company strategy to distribution network.
    • Manages the process of effective distribution management on behalf of GeoVera business units.  This includes implementing changes to agency/broker contracts, coordinating agency/broker profit sharing activities, and the termination of agencies and brokers.
    • Consults with the Sales Executive and business units while working directly with agents and brokers to resolve any issues or problems.
    • Coordinates and facilitates prospecting, appointments and training.
    • Monitors the financial stability of GeoVera’s distribution network.
    • Identifies and directs mutual business opportunities in an effort to maximize business unit objectives.
    • Coordinates leadership and operational planning with agents/brokers.
    • Gathers and maintains territorial information on agents and brokers and disseminates this information to the Sales Executive and to the business units.
    • Coordinates quality reviews and monitors/reports results.
    • Consults with the Sales Executive and business units, as needed, on special requests or projects.
    • Enforces the ethical and legal standards of GeoVera with its agents and brokers.


    Additional Responsibilities


    Performs other related duties as required and assists with special projects.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education, training, and experience:


    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of High School Diploma/GED, training and work experience.
    • Continuing industry education preferred
    • Three to five years P&C Personal Lines experience preferred


    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:


    • Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills
    • Exceptional planning and problem solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy, able to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
    • Works well with management and co-workers 
    • Ability and willingness to develop and execute a marketing program for a specific territory
    • Ability to work independently and must be able to travel 75% within assigned territory.
    • Existing independent agency relationships in assigned territory a definite plus
    • Computer Literacy, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
    • Clean driving record preferred
