  • Summary

    Provide first level hardware and software technical support to department and business staff. Ensure assigned IT problem tickets are completed within service levels with demonstrated courteous and professional customer service.

    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for setup of new computers and use of migration tools to transfer data.
    • Prepare computers and personal devices for new hires
    • Resolve assigned computer help desk tickets from end users.
    • Install, support and configure computer hardware and software applications.
    • Work with department staff on system hardware and software problems and documentation.
    • Assist with system maintenance, upgrades and modifications, email system administration and back up responsibilities as assigned.
    • Move, reinstall and configure PCs, servers, printers and other devices.
    • Learn fundamental operation of key hardware, packaged software and internally developed applications to assist with problem resolution activities.
    • Participate in the weekly 24/7 help desk support on-call rotation every 4 – 6 weeks.
    • Provide additional backup and support to IT Network staff
    • Provide a professional and positive customer service experience to all users of the help desk.

    Additional Responsibilities


    Performs other related duties as required and assists with special projects.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education, training, and experience:

    •  An AS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of High School Diploma/GED, and training and work experience
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of computer experience is required
    • 1 year Help Desk or IT infrastructure support related experience preferably in Windows environment (Windows 7 & 10, Office 2010 (Office365 and virtualization software a plus)) 
    • Working knowledge of hardware and software applications to include LAN and Microsoft Windows

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Knowledge of computer hardware
    • Demonstrated experience installing, supporting, troubleshooting and utilizing PC software products
    • Demonstrated technical aptitude and good problem solving skills, effective communication skills and a strong orientation toward customer service
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy, able to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
    • Works well with management and co-workers
